Instagram has quickly become one of my favorite photography outlets. Some days, given 2 kids and a full time job I just don’t get the time to take out my camera. Even the weekends get away from me although I always start with the intention of pulling out one of the “good” cameras. My iPhone is always by my side though and often how I capture my day to day life. It is also a great way to be creative “on the fly” which sometimes is just all I have time for.
Recently I’ve been using my iphone to take some self portraits. It has been an interesting exercise and something I am considering perusing as a personal project using my better cameras as well. I used to think that self portraits were rather, well, self centered; but now I feel that they are more an interesting way to explore one’s psyche. It will be an adventure to see were else I can go with these. Here is a bit of what I’ve been doing with instagram so far.
