We have quite a few books for Rowan but most of them are board books which are really for kids much younger than her. It just didn’t occur to us that she might need somethign more advanced. Sometimes we are slow like that – cut us some slack – she is our first kid.
Recently she liked our neighbor’s books for bigger girls so we decided we needed to get some. Since Superman is a teacher he picked one up at the school library for her yesterday. We read it last night and she LOVED it. As an avid life long reader this made me really happy. It is so fun to see how into a book she can get. I vividly remember how alive books were when I was her age and to be able to share that with her and hopefully impart of love of reading feels like a really wonderful gift we can give her as a parents.
She requested he bring home a pink one today, so he went to his school librarian and told her he needed a pink book for his daughter.
He brought home two.
